Key to Health — Android App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Keyto, Inc. (“Key to Health,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Key to Health Android application (com.getkeyto.android). It supplements and incorporates our general Key to Health Privacy Policy; where this Android policy and the general policy conflict regarding the Android app, this policy governs.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name or username, email address, and profile details such as date of birth and gender. This information is used to create and manage your account and personalize your experience.

Health and fitness information. We collect health data you provide or generate in the app, including body weight and breath-based ketone-level estimates measured using your paired Key to Health device. This data is used to provide measurement results, track your progress, and power coaching features.

Health Connect data. With your permission, the app reads your body weight from Android Health Connect. See the Health Connect section below.

Coaching chat messages. Messages you send in the in-app coaching chat are stored to provide and improve the coaching feature.

Photos. If you add photos to your food journal, those images are collected to provide the journaling feature. The app accesses your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a photo.

Device and diagnostic information. We collect device identifiers (such as a push-notification token and an app-instance identifier), crash logs, and diagnostic and app-interaction data to operate the app, fix problems, and understand usage. We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Firestore) for these purposes.

We do not collect your location. The app's Bluetooth features do not use Bluetooth to derive your location.

Health Connect

The Key to Health app integrates with Android Health Connect to read your body weight (read-only). We use this data solely to display your weight trends and sync weight history into your Key to Health profile. The app does not write data to Health Connect.

We handle data obtained through Health Connect in accordance with the Health Connect Permissions policy. Specifically:

  • We do not use Health Connect data for advertising or marketing.
  • We do not sell Health Connect data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
  • We access only the data types necessary to provide the features described above.

You can grant or revoke the app's access to Health Connect at any time in the Health Connect settings on your device. Revoking access stops further reads but does not affect data already synced to your profile, which you can remove by deleting your account.

Bluetooth device data

The app connects to your Key to Health breath-measurement device over Bluetooth Low Energy to take measurements. Bluetooth is used only to communicate with Key to Health devices and never to determine your location.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to: operate and maintain the app; provide breath and weight measurement, tracking, and coaching; personalize your experience; communicate with you; and ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, messaging, and data storage), and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. Service providers are bound to use the data only to provide services to us.

Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app, or at your account settings. Full details, including what is deleted and what may be retained in de-identified form, are described on our data deletion page.

Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Permissions we request

  • Bluetooth — to connect to your Key to Health measurement device.
  • Camera and photos — to let you add photos to your food journal (optional).
  • Notifications — to send reminders and coaching messages (optional).
  • Health Connect (read weight) — to sync your weight (optional).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
